This charred cotton cloth is a valuable aid in lighting a fire using traditional methods such as flint and steel. It has been used for centuries on the frontiers of civilization to help get that all-important first flame, as it easily takes a spark from flint and steel, or your ferrocerium rod, for example.
Each kit contains approximately 8 dm2 of cotton char cloth housed in a watertight aluminium tin.
