Ordering from Casström FAQ

What is the expected shipping time on my order?

We aim to dispatch your order as quickly as possible, but please allow 1-3 working days to process and pack the order, plus the time it takes to ship your order. We're not Amazon fast, but most of our customers get their orders within three days.

Sometimes we will ship to you directly from Sweden, if an item is out of stock and you require your order more quickly than waiting for a restock of the UK warehouse. If this happens, it will usually take a week or just over to reach you from Sweden. There are no import fees other than the standard UK shipping charge on your order, if shipping applies. We take care of all customs duties and fees.

Casström are based in Lapland, Sweden. Will I be paying customs duty or any other fees?

Absolutely not! We have a warehouse in the UK and the vast majority of orders are dispatched from within the UK. Sometimes we will ship to you directly from Sweden. If this happens, there are no import fees other than the standard UK shipping charge on your order, if shipping applies. We take care of all customs duties and fees.

Casström Limited is a UK registered company, paying UK taxes, that is the sister company to Casström AB in Sweden.

Do you offer free shipping?

Free shipping is available on any order over £70. So if you order a Casström knife, it is shipped free of charge. Note this also includes the extra surcharge for an adult signature that is required by UK law.

Where are your knives and leather goods made?

Exclusively in the EU. We source our steel and curly birch from Scandinavia. Our leather is a by-product of meat and dairy farming in the EU (mainly France and Germany). Our knives and leather goods are assembled in Spain and Italy with small factories that we work closely with, then shipped back to our base in Lapland where our workshop carries out the final inspection and any fine tuning of the handle or grind to maintain our high standards.

Are your products sourced and manufactured sustainably?

Yes, and we work constantly to improve and fine tune all aspects of the business with a view to sustainability. Our Swedish steels are recycled, and our wooden handles are made with wood from PEFC-certified sustainable forestry. More detailed FAQs of how we source our leather and curly birch is available in the info links section at the bottom of the page.

Do your knives undergo any form of quality control?

We would say that Casström have one of the most rigorous quality control regimes in the industry. Each individual knife is examined at our Lapland base, and fine tuning carried out to handle or blade as required. Only when we are satisfied that the knife is up to Casström standards will we release it for sale.

The high standard of fit-and-finish on our knives, and extras like cryogenic treatment, hand finished handles, symmetrical blade grinds, and top-grade leather sheaths have built our reputation as one of Scandinavia's premium knife manufacturers.
