Everyday Versatility

A compact and powerful addition to the acclaimed Casström family of knives, inspired by the popular No.10 SFK model and traditional Scandinavian “brukskniv” utility knives.  Designed with precision and crafted for performance, the No.8 SFK is your go-to tool for your next outdoor trip. With this knife on your belt, you won’t just be surviving – you’ll be thriving!

Key Features

  • Perfectly balanced design: The 8cm long and 3mm thick blade is tailored for those who appreciate a knife that is just the right size for close work like whittling and woodcarving and food prep. Its ergonomic handle, complete with a reassuring finger groove, offers a secure and comfortable grip.
  • Versatile and comfortable: Whether you have large or small hands, the No.8 SFK fits comfortably, allowing for precise control. The knife is the ideal size for safely “choking up” on the blade for finer wood carving tasks.
  • Superior Blade Spec: Made from Alleima (formerly Sandvik) 14C28N, a recycled Swedish stainless steel. The optimized chemistry provides a top-grade knife steel with a unique combination of excellent edge performance, high hardness, and good corrosion resistance as well as ease of sharpening. Casström blades are all cryo-quenched as standard too, which enhances wear resistance and fulfils the true potential of the steel.
  • Wilderness reliability: The scandi grind, and full-tang construction help make the blade both stable and robust, even under demanding conditions. Even in the event of a handle break, a full-tang knife can still be easily used. The scandi grind is perfect for carving wood.
  • Bushcraft Ready: On its own or paired with an axe or larger blade, the No.8 SFK completes your essential bushcraft tool combination. Its lightweight design makes it an excellent belt knife, or a more specific game prep or fishing knife.
  • Premium Handle Options: Choose between the elegant beauty of hand-finished Scandinavian Curly Birch or the weather resistance of tough Green Micarta – both paired with our vegetable-tanned European Leather Sheath with the stylish Casström Leaf emblem on the front face.
  • Firesteel Option: For those who need the ultimate survival tool, this model includes our fantastic 12,000+ strike Auermetall Fire Steel (with matching handle of curly birch), and a leather sheath with integral fire steel loop. Firelighting has never been this easy!

Perfect companion to a 10

If you have a 10 you need an 8 and if they ever bring out a bird/small game and a fillet knife its all you would ever need.
Those 4 knives would do all your meat processing.
I can and have made many knife blades but i cant make a blade better than Casstrom .
And not for the money. So why bother.
And boy do they last and take some hammer.
I shoot a deer a week(also many bunnies and duck/goose) and 3 years down the line my 10 is like new.
You cannot beat Casstrom blades ,don't fall for silly price,s ive done it there is no better blade just more expensive.
The No8 is superb.
Bring on the Fillet and trout&game PLEASE.
