I purchased the Lars Fält slip joint knife from Casstrom at the bushcraft show almost a year ago now. Having used this knife on a weekly basis I am confident in saying this is probably the best U.K. legal slip joint money can by. As always the knife scales are finished beautiful curly birch. I would recommend regular oiling with boiled linseed oil if you use it frequently. The steel is perfect for every day, low maintained use. Holds an edge relatively well and is extremely easy to sharpen. What sets this knife apart from the competition, is the folding mechanism, unlike almost all folding knives, the blade on this mechanism stops at 90 degrees, adding that extra security to a folding knife. This has saved my fingers on more than one occasion, this is very well designed. I’d recommend this over any other slip joint on the market! Well done Casstrom 10/10

I wanted a EDC knife I could carry out walking/hiking/bushcraft or in my hand bag, just a good solid dependable blade that was good quality, a beautiful product that I would cherish and look after. It has exceeded my expectations, it’s a beautiful handle and blade. Oiled the wood and blade and shines its lovely pattern, it is a joy to use, very sharp. The blade is good quality sturdy design and compliments the larger Lars Fält fixed blade knife.
I also got the leather belt pouch for it, it fits like a glove and compliments the knife beautifully. Very happy with both items. I don’t use the leather strap - personal choice.
I cannot recommend this knife enough, money well spent.

I've had my slip joint knife for a year now. I am extremely pleased.
Some thoughts:
1) Oil the wood: protects the knife, and improves the appearance (this is a lovely looking item)
2) It's a slip joint so think before you cut. People don't appreciate that the blade can close if used without thought, and that's a risk. Luckily the blade pauses at the 90deg closed position which I think increases the degree of safety.
3) The leather lanyard is sacrificial. I've closed my knife on it too many times by accident, and as the knife holds a really sharp edge the leather doesn't survive. I'm on my third.
Used for boxes and cord and string, and a little bit of outdoor fire prep.
