Swivelling filleting knives are a hallmark of EKA. These swingable little wonders are some of the most useful knives you can think of!

Practical, safe, and razor-sharp, they fit just as well in the fishing backpack, the kitchen, as on the trip or in the sailboat. The design of the knife blade is optimized for all types of fishing. The belly opener with a rounded tip facilitates the work of opening and clearing the catch. The handle consists of grip-friendly PROFLEX ™ rubber. The knife blade is made of Sandvik Steel 12C27 and has superb sharpness. Comes with a practical plastic holster that handles water ingress really well by draining out the top so as not to collect inside around the knife blade. Simple but oh so clever.

EXCELLENT KNIFE

I primarily use the brother to this knife, the EKA Swing blade. The operation is exactly the same though but the use is different as this is a filleting knife.

Excellent durable and simple construction where by you can switch between the blade and an internal gutter that cuts from under the dermis. Especially good on furred mammals as the edge does not have to cut through hair/fur which dulls knives quickly and creates a lpt of avoidable mess.

The steel is excellent, holds and edge for a reasonable amount of work and can be sharpened to a wicked edge if you know what you are doing (most don't) and have the right kit - again, usually the weakest link in the chain.

This is trickier to re-sharpen as it is a longish but flexible blade so right kit and technique. I would probably send this to a specialist over the standard swing blades.

Very grippy scales helps reduce the risk if slipping whilst you prep your meat. I sometimes use this in the kitchen too.

Only criticism would be the lanyard is fir for purpose re strength but feels a bit cheap. I would replace this if yo feel you have a need for a lanyard at all.
